SAND PICTURES

WE MADE SAND PICTURES.MRS MAGNIER SHOWED US A PIECE
OF NATIVE AMERICAN ART AND SHE INSPIRED US TO CREATE
OUR OWN SAND PICTURES. ANA MADE A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE
AT HOME OF THE SUN EAGLE AND WE BASED OUR DESIGNS
ON IT. IT WAS GREAT FUN TO MAKE. IT TURNED OUT GREAT.

Art

Anna helped us make dream catchers after we were learning about Native Americans in history. First we got 2 pieces of cardboard/paper and stuck them together. Then we cut out a circle in it. After that we punched five holes in the cardboard/paper. Next we got some coloured string and weaved it through the holes and it made a star shape in the middle of the circle. Then we got crepe paper and decorated the outside of the dream catchers. After that we hung feathers from the bottom of them and then we hung them up.

Volcanoes

In geography we were learning about volcanoes and earthquakes. In science we all made volcanoes.

The materials we used were:

1.marla
2.vinegar
3.baking soda
4.red food colouring
5.A small bottle.

The method was
1. Shape the marla around the small bottle
2.Add red food colouring
3.Put one and a half tea spoons of baking soda.
5.Add vinegar.

The result was that the red food colouring, the vinegar and the baking soda came out of the volcanoes like real lava.

Flower Experiment

While learning about pollination in science we did an experiment with food colour with white carnations. We put water in a small cup and we added red or blue dye. After about a week they turned different colours. We also put celery in coloured water to show the way plants take up nutrients through the roots.
